Interesting People in Residence省略IPRの第四弾！2010年1月14日から1月31日まで、イスラエル人ドキュメンタリーフィルム作家ナダフ・ハレルがhanareradに滞在します。期間中は、塩についてのドキュメンタリー作品を取るフィルムディレクターを主人公にした「Salt」という作品の制作を行ないます。イスラエルという地の作家とここ京都でどのようなアイデアを交換することが出来るのでしょうか。
From 1/14- 1/31, Nadav Harel, film director, will be staying at hanarerad. He will be conducting a research for his upcoming film, "Salt."

テルアビブ（イスラエル）をベースに活動するドキュメンタリーフィルム作家。NYのSchool of Visual Artsでフィルムを学び、卒業後は、ドキュメンタリーの編集、監督を主に手がける。ハレルの作品はNY近代美術館、イギリス国営放送（BBC）、フィン ランド国営放送（YLE）、オーストラリアのSBS等、世界各地で幅広く放映されている。精神衛生の社会的側面、自然、政治に関しての作品が多い。これま での作品には、幼児性愛者を題材にした、アメリカでの作品「Chicken Hawk」 、「Shas」という超正統派ユダヤ教政党の躍進についての作品「Children of the revolution」、パレスチナのガザに置ける漁業戦争を描いた「Area K」、常に戦争状態にあるイスラエル社会の中で、ドラッグエクスタシーを社会学的に考察する作品、「Attack of the Happy People」等。現在進行中のプロジェクトとして、脳を電気で刺激するという最新技術を通して、精神医学と神経科学の世界を扱ドキュメンタリー作品 「The electric mind」と、イスラエルの戦争を扱った政治ホラーの長編フィクション作品「In the name of death」がある。また、塩についてのドキュメンタリー作品を撮るフィルムディレクターを主人公にした、「Salt」という作品も同時進行中。
Nadav Harel is a documentary filmmaker based in Tel Aviv, Israel. He studied film making in School of Visual Arts, New York in the early nineties, and has been working as a filmmaker ever since specializing in documentary editing and directing. Nadav's films has played internationally - in theaters in the united states, the MOMA, BBC world, YLE, SBS and more. Nadav's fields of interests focus on social aspects of mental health, nature and politics.Ever since he has been working on many documentaries including the award winning American documentary "Chicken Hawk" about pedophiles, "Children of the revolution" about the rise of "shas" an ultra orthodox religious political party in Israel, "Area K" a documentary about the politics of fishing wars in the Gaza strip, "Attack of the Happy People" about the sociology of the drug ecstasy in war inflicted Israel. Currently Nadav is working on a major documentary "The electric mind" which is about psychiatry and neuroscience through the perspective of ultra cutting edge electric stimulation technologies for the purpose of healing brain disorders. As well Nadav is currently in development of two feature length fiction movies: "In the name of death", a political horror film set in the Israeli war between Arabs and Jews. Another film currently in production is "SALT - white goddess, death by sacred fire" a story of a documentary film director who is making a documentary about salt who meets a women who turns into a crystal of salt.
